Prices are high here (like all Food Citys). The location is convenient for many. Clean store overall. Craft beer section has improved.
IMO, compared to the larger grocery stores, they have the best selection and prices in Maryville. They have a great Meat & Seafood dept - and a Managers Special section where you can get awesome deals on cuts of meat that are nearing their expiration date.
I had a bag of chicken leak all over the floor and the wonderful older lady had a guy from the meat dept. come and take care of the wet floor and reached my chicken. The check out guys and girls were great too.
Took my daughter & I '1 hour' to checkout at register on Fri night (10:04-11:07) because prices were not correct in register as were stated in weekly sale paper, the register froze, 2 frustrated managers tried resolving the issues by giving credit and amt was added, not credited. Had to re-ring items, and finally after the second time the total was indeed $12.22 less then the first time! I will NEVER shop at Food City again. This is one of the worse experiences I have ever had at a grocery store. Neither manager apologized for the problem, and what an attitude they had...but Amy the cashier and the guys that bagged the groceries were great. This is why I choose to shop at Kroger! Good Luck to anyone that shops 'Food City'...
I absolutely love this store! I even left $50 in the change machine at the self-checkouts and by the time I realized it I was already home. I called the store and they reviewed the tapes and seen the person had picked up the $50 and exited after buying one box of cereal. The manager told me he had an envelope waiting for me at the store with my $50 in it even though they did not have to do that.
