We were greeted promptly upon arrival. Ms. Jodie was kind and explained some guidelines to ensure a good experience. Her boys were also so helpful and patient as they showed us around the property and introduced to all the animals. Although they never mentioned His name, these people ooze Jesus. There's just no other way to explain it. They are precious!
We will be going back several times a year as a family. (I will sneak back more often to purchase delicious eggs!)
3) Call ahead. You'll get a better experience if they are expecting you.
Worst birthday experience ever! Yes, they had animals. Most of them were friendly but the dog bit my three year-old. There was not even an apology. The owner simply stated that it happens sometimes. Really!??! A 90-100lb dog bit my 25lb kid on the chest as she was petting him, after the owner told us that every animal there was able to be pet by everyone. The place was a wreck, trash was piled up with a terrible stink 25 ft from where we are our pizza and cake. I would not recommend anyone ever pay to have a party here.
Terrible farm. The chinchillas looked like they hadn't had a dust bath in months. Very few of the animals had fresh water readily available and were very cramped together. The horse was tethered with its head low, because apparently they didn't want him to damage their saddle!!! It takes too long to put it on and off apparently, so the poor horse has to put up with neck cramp! I will never go back. My daughter cried all the way home, worried about the chinchillas that looked so sick!
1) This is a working farm. Dress accordingly.
My children and I absolutely loved our time at Friendly Farm! There are so many good things to say...
2) Take cash. There is no register/credit card machine in the barn.
During our visit, we were able to pet/snuggle/hold chickens, piglets, goats, ponies, donkeys, chinchillas, tiny chicks, and ducklings. Hamlet, the big pig, was quite funny making his way around the farm. No fence will stand in his way! My kids, with some help from CJ, were able to ride Fresca- a gentle horse. All of the animals were healthy and are obviously receiving tremendous care.
We had so much fun at Friendly Farm today. My daughter got to ride a horse for the first time and now it's all she is talking about. You can tell the animals are very well taken care of and handled/socialized a lot.
Our kids love Friendly Farm, and so do we! I'm so happy they have an opportunity to learn how to care for animals.
Things to note before you go:
Also a great place for birthday parties!
